Review by Cody Larson

Shapeshifter's latest album, Looking Glass Ties, is a mesmerizing journey through the depths of electronic music. The New Zealand-based band has been pushing the boundaries of the genre for over two decades, and this album is a testament to their continued innovation.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful "Diamond Trade," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. The track features ethereal vocals, intricate percussion, and a pulsing bassline that transports the listener to another world.

From there, the album takes on a more upbeat tone with tracks like "Gravity" and "Break Me Down," which showcase Shapeshifter's ability to blend electronic and live instrumentation seamlessly. The band's use of horns and strings on these tracks adds an extra layer of depth and complexity to the already intricate arrangements.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Her," a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases lead singer P Digsss' emotive vocals. The track is stripped back compared to some of the other songs on the album, allowing the lyrics to take center stage.
